Chris Rummell is a Bay Area artist, miniaturist, and sign maker. In his miniatures, Rummell creates vignettes of weathered landmarks, treasured hangouts, and overlooked spaces. Based on his prior experience with hand painted signs and graphics, his miniatures celebrate signs and commercial art of the past.

From the Artist:

I started building miniatures as a way to preserve memories. Even minor landmarks can feel deeply personal, bringing up familiar feelings of a time and place. I find rust and chipping paint a kind of memory and experience; signs of life, not signs of decay. Few things in our world last long enough to show that kind of strength.

Everything in life leaves its mark on us, but endurance is not passive. Rather than stopping time, this work marks its passage, celebrating transformation and persistence.
